Leicester Lolita Meet, Majikkon, Birmingham MCM and Other Random Things

*Music - The Masquerade by Voltaire*

Wow, it feels like I haven't blogged in such a long time. A few events have passed in that time and rather than make each one into a separate post, I've decided to cram them all into one, photo-heavy one! Prepare yourselves!

The first event I went to since my last blog post was a small local Lolita meet in Leicester. Leicester isn't far from Derby and is cheap to get to on train so it was nice to have a casual meet, hang out and make new friends.

We went to Leicester's shopping center for tea, cakes and shopping.

Kerry, third from left, had arrived by this point! All of us together, it was a small but lovely meet~ <3

And of course we had to get bubble tea.

Honeydew melon slush with strawberry boba/bubbles.

The meet was very relaxed, fun and casual. I hope we can all get together again soon.

Next event was a convention in Huddersfield called Majikkon. I went there to trade with my brand, had lots of fun and met new and old friends.

In order to get there early in the morning to set up, I had to get up stupidly early (like 4am early) to catch the first train to Huddersfield.

My stall after setting up

A more awake selfie...I switched handbags to match my outfit better and forgot my compact hairbrush...sacrilege! I honestly didn't realise how much I rely on it travelling...

I have so little Lolita clothing and accessories whilst saving up for Japan...I'm sure you noticed me reusing shoes and hair accessory...truth be told though, that I adore those shoes and both the shoes and hair accessory go so well with many of my outfits. I am currently waiting on a dress and headbow when I next see my friend Jayde so at least my wardrobe will have expanded slightly then. And fingers crossed, I may try my hand at making clothes ago. And have no fear, my wardrobe will explode upon my return of Japan!

Inbetween events I made myself a new phone case~! Transformersssssss...Decepticonssssss
I placed each rhinestone by hand and sketched out the Decepticon insignia first. The gap near the top of the case is actually the hinge of a mirror - flip the panel and there's a mirror in the phone case! So handy!

In the month of February I was allowed a free milkshake from Ed's Diner because it was my birthday month. I didn't go on my birthday but I went after Majikkon. I got a Nutella milkshake and it was divineeeeeeeee

So much love~

I also bought some fries because I felt kind of weird just getting a free milkshake...I wouldn't usually but you have to pay afterwards so I would've gone up to the till for nothing...

I also traded an Angelic Pretty skirt for an Innocent World dress with a girl from Germany, and whilst I was in her sales album, I noticed she was selling Etude House's Princess Etoinette Blusher! OMG! The whole original Princess Etoinette line has been discontinued except for the lipsticks, and I always meant to get the blusher and face powder to try, and keep the adorable packaging...the girl was also selling the flower shaped blusher brush Etude House brought out with the line so I snapped them both up and have not regretted it. I will review the blusher soon so look out for that~ The items are so so hard to find nowadays so I'm really lucky she was selling them. I actually have the face powder on the way too, but there is a sad story about that I'll save for another time.

Random selfie when I went to see my mum. The makeup products I used haven't changed from what I mentioned above, other than I was using the Princess Etoinette blusher and Etude House Sweet Recipe Dear my Jelly Lips-talk Lipstick in JPK002.

I also worked in my boyfriend's shop for a couple of hours whilst he continued his arm sleeve tattoo (I don't feel right saying he got a new tattoo, since it's not really a singular one, more a continuation of his sleeve...). I really liked my eye makeup that day and was actually sad to take it off XD I did a pink and purple dark eye. I also wore pink devil horns, as you can see, and my Black Heart Ring Choker from my brand, 8th Sin.

I'm not very good at taking photos that show makeup well...but this is one of my better attempts. The eyeshadows I used were cheap offbrand ones, no brands or product names I can give, I'm afraid. XD I used an offbrand pink, offbrand red and then I darkened the red to a purplish shade with Stargazer Eyeshadow in Black Gold.

Next up was Birmingham MCM in March, a two day convention that I traded at. I set up on the Friday and the convention was on the Saturday and Sunday. MCM get very famous guests for photographs and signing sessions; this event got Laurie Holden from The Walking Dead and Warrick Davis from Harry Potter and Star Wars (to name but a few). I didn't see them at the event since I didn't queue up for the signings, and there were lots more guests.

My stall after I set up. I sold Cards Against Humanity for my boyfriend and the full packs were sold out by 2pm! I had one expansion pack left at the end of the day, which was the second thing to sell on the Sunday.

Outfit breakdown:
Blouse - eBay
Bustier - Charity shop
Skirt - Taobao
Feather capelet - Taobao
Feathery tulle bustle belt (hardly seen) - Taobao
Tights - Primark
Shoes - Facebook sale
Antler headband - Ciciwork on Taobao

This was the first time I got to wear this beautiful antler headband, and many people complimented me on it.

That's it for events! Phew! My next event is a Lolita Bring and Buy Meet in Stafford in two weeks, then Belfast MCM in May, which I'm kind of nervous about...I'll have to ship my stock over to my hostel rather than check it in, and actually get a plane to the location, which is kind of nerve-wracking. I wouldn't be so nervous if I was just going for a weekend away or leisure break, but because it's my shop, I have to be mentally prepared and make sure everything is organised, as well as hopefully make my money back on getting there and then make profit.

I am never sure whether to do makeup breakdowns or not, since 99% of the time I wear the same base and eye products, the only thing that really changes is lipstick. What do you think? I promise I will blog more often now, so see you soon!
