Review: E45 Intense Recovery Lotion

*Listening to: Menuetto by Sopor Aeternus*

Hello my dear readers! I'm back after a short hiatus of transferring all my blog images to Flickr rather than Photobucket so here is a short review I've had sitting in my drafts for a while!

Brand: E45
Name: Intense Recovery Lotion
Price: Around £4-£5.99
Where to buy: Boots, Amazon UK, Superdrug

E45 is well known for their skincare products that are good for sensitive skin and skin problems such as eczema and psoriasis. Their products are usually fragrance free as not to aggravate sensitive skin. E45's Intense Recovery Lotion is fragrance free, comes in a 400ml bottle full-sized and promises to lock moisture into your skin, has a non-greasy formula and makes skin silky smooth and soft.
E45 Intense Recovery Lotion Packaging
E45's most used colours are white and blue with a splash of red. Their sample packaging shows it and the full size product looks pretty much exactly the same:
Because I'm spoilt with cute Asian packaging, I find E45's packaging very boring and bland but it does have a certain 'cosmeceutical' look to it that can be appealing if you need the benefits and consumer market.
E45 Intense Recovery Lotion Swatch
The lotion is very lightweight and non-greasy. It spreads easily and absorbs into skin fast. I used it as a regular moisturiser for a while; I got three samples in the mail so I squeezed it into a small pot and it gave me about 2 weeks usage.

It didn't make my skin any drier and no dry, scaly patches showed up but it wasn't quite as moisturising as I like. My skin felt quite soft and smooth when using this but it didn't feel powdery soft, plump and firm like other creams do.
If you have particularly sensitive but not very dry skin, I feel like this lotion will be very good for you. It's very inoffensive and does its job well but I prefer something more moisturising. This lotion is designed to be the most basic lotion your skin can have; it has no frills or fancy beneficial ingredients as it needs to be the best for many skin types. I'm quite thankful that my skin isn't as picky as it could be so I can enjoy other moisturisers that make my skin feel lovely. I wouldn't buy this lotion but it did its job so I'll give it 4 out of 5.
