Cute Items Post!

Hi everyone! Today I thought I'd just post some cute items I've bought recently! Who doesn't like cute items/haul posts? Let me know what you think!

Photobucket
I bought this scarf from eBay this week. It only cost me £3 with free shipping (I bidded to win it, no other bids) and it is vintage, 100% silk and has a gorgeous gold design of equestrian and knotted motifs! Don't you think the print is reminiscent of MA*RS items? I normally never wear scarves, don't actually own one and would never buy one but this is my first one ever because I just couldn't resist its beauty and I think I will wear it lots! It will be the perfect addition to an all black or black & pink outfit!

Again, this item I am very proud of! I have been on a bit of a bidding frenzy on eBay... ^^; This is a pink chiffon bolero from Metamorphose I won for just under £25 including postage! Yay! It is so beautiful and again, perfect for all the dark and pink outfits I wear. I have been buying a couple of clothing items for an event I am doing soon (more on that at a later date!) so whilst they are safe items I can wear all the time, they are perfect staple additions to my wardrobe.

I made this item the other day - to some, it may be a bit confusing as to what it is. It is a ruffled wrap-around shrug that you put round the back of your neck, under your arms and tie the black ribbon around your back. It is so great for changing up outfits and I can make tons in lots of different colours and motifs for my wardrobe! I love this Steampunk feeling one with gold pocketwatches and when I showed my boyfriend, he said it looked like "something out of The Fifth Element", which is one of my favourite films! Super awesome and futuristic looking! I can't wait to make more of these and add them to my shop! Do you think people will be interested?

I also went on a charity shop spree when I went to see my mum and mama in my hometown. I will also have a hunt around in Derby's charity shops soon too! I managed to find a few hidden gems; this is a black velvet bolero I found in Help The Aged, which I never really took for having that great of items! I was thinking of taking the plain, clear buttons off and either replacing them with more cute buttons or doing away with them altogether as they serve no purpose. I have, however, just bought a black fur collar that has buttonhole loops round it so you can attach it to buttoned items! It may look great and oh so luxurious with this bolero!

This is another charity shop find from the British Heart Foundation - a lovely chiffon blouse in an amazing berry colour. It's from Marks & Spencers originally and said it was a size 8 but it lies! I'm a size 10 with quite big boobs for my figure (I could get away with stretchy size 8 items if my boobs were smaller...) and this fits perfectly. It's a little baggy around the waist and hips, which I think is the desired cut for the item but it looks much cuter under a tighter cardigan that helps bring a silhouette to it more. It doesn't have a button near the top of the blouse though, like other Lolita blouses so I may change the buttons and make new buttonholes when I get my new sewing machine after Christmas! I wore this last week with my handmade black Lolita skirt (the one with the large eyelet lace hem) and a pair of suede bow heels in the exact same berry shade so it does match my wardrobe!

Photobucket
I also found this in the Heart Foundation - a red velvet top with puffed sleeves that are slightly elasticated so they stay puffed and in place. It's a very flattering top even though I don't normally like capped sleeves. Don't you think it also has a Dolly Kei vibe to it? I do! The luxurious feel of velvet, the rich ruby jewel tones - it would look great with a jacket, loose cardigan or stole, long skirt or maybe with some green or textured items thrown in, like embroidered or jacquard items!

Photobucket
My last charity shop find; a sheer black lace top in an awesome wench/peasant style cut. I think it would look gorgeous under a corset and is originally from River Island is a size 8. It looks really opaque here but I wish it was...I will have to wear a vest top underneath. Or maybe go raunchy Goth with just a black bra?! ;-)

I bought this the other day from a rather plain jewellery stall in Derby's Eagle Market. These were hidden away in the corner and came in light pink and this hotter pink. I picked hotted pink as it will go with more, especially Agejo Gyaru. I bought it to use as a garter...but do you know what it actually is? A baby's headband! XD I was like "Oh...whatever, I'm still using it as a garter!" Heh heh, creativity and Japanese fashion pieces can come from anywhere! I'll probably get the light pink one soon too as they were only £1.95 and I got mine for £1.80 as I have a student card. These also totally look like they should belong in the Chinese stall in the Eagle market; she most definitely bought them from a Chinese wholesaler/store.

Photobucket
Okay, another handmade piece I am really proud of! Once my old black earphones broke by the wire rubbing away near the jack socket, I needed some new earphones. I'm not really into headphones as I think they can be clunky and don't look that great on me. I was given these ones, which were plain once upon a time, by my papa and are from Sony. Sony are as good a brand as any for electrical/headphone brands so I thought why bother buying a cheaper pair and them just breaking again? But they looked soooo plain...so I decorated them in a black and pink Hime style! I think I am getting more and more into Hime...it's because my black Hime style wig arrived, heh heh! I decorated these plain Sony headphones with a pink lace ruffle, black faux fur, pink and white polka dotted ribbon bow and gold, white pearl & pink bicone bead chain! Don't they look adorable now? If you want a pair of headphones customised, just send me a message or go to my shop for more information on a customer decoden order.

So when my friend Suzy came to see me in Derby a month or so back, we have to go to this adorable Chinese stall in the Eagle market called Catwalk. She sells all the cute hair accessories most Chinese knick-knack stalls sell. I went on a huge rampage buying lots of cute pink hair accessories (no point in buying black ones as my hair is black!) so this is an adorable hot pink applique bunny one! Again, they are Hime/Agejo style in hot and light pink. I can't wait to wear this!

Photobucket
This one is a hot pink tiara shaped hair clip with a Hello Kitty cabochon in the middle and lots of multi-coloured rhinestones! Super awesome and princessy! This will look amazing at the base of my Hime bump wig!

Photobucket
Actually, I remember now...those last two were bought at a Chinese market stall called Dreamz in Manchester...I didn't buy as many there as they are more expensive than Catwalk - that's cities for you! But these remaining ones I bought at Catwalk. This is the second headband I've bought from Catwalk; a pink satin flower one with pink pearl strands. Super cute but there aren't any more I like until she gets new stock in.

Photobucket
A single hot pink hair clip from Catwalk with a cute teddy cabochon on, satin ribbon, rhinestones and lace ruffle. Cute!

Photobucket
A pair of adorable teddy bear snap-style hair clips with organza ribbon and lace ruffles. Gotta love that lace ruffle edging you see on pretty much all these items! It makes everything so much more pretty!

Photobucket
Another matching pair of hair clips with a white rabbit cabochon on them...I think this is an actual character rather than just a random one as I see it on a lot of Chinese items, like bags, accessories, pencil cases, etc. Much more than Hello Kitty so it's obviously less well-known and therefore easier to fake! XD It's called Love Rabbit, which doesn't make it any more dubious but neither any less cute!

Photobucket
I think each hair accessory was two for £1 or something extraordinarily cheap like that and I had an odd number so I grabbed this lighter pink version of the hair clips above. It's a very light pink so I may not wear it as much as the hot pink ones but we'll see!

Photobucket
I also bought this really cute phone charm with fake Hello Kitty on it and fluffy pink pom poms! Super cute and the last pink one, score!

Photobucket
For being such great customers and always returning to her store, the Catwalk stall owner let me and Suzy pick a badge each for free! This one is a lovely pastelly fairy-style Hello Kitty badge. I don't really wear badges but it is still cute, pinned onto my hair accessories/brooch organiser and I may pin it onto a bag or something at some point, Fairy Kei style.

Photobucket
Me and Suzy have also made a new friend in Manchester! Another Chinese stall owner, except he doesn't sell particularly Chinese items, just very blingy and pretty items, including this super cute hair bow! It's sooo great for Hime and the styles of Lolita I like (usually Gothic but more pretty with pink added in...probably more bittersweet but I don't wanna get shouted at for using that "sub-style"!) The satin ribbon is ridiculously high quality and may even be silk; it's double faced and just amazingly thick and soft. It's also covered in pink rhinestones and silver diamante trim - so blingy and cute! The stall owner's name is Anthony Seow (check him out on Facebook and add him if you're near Manchester!) and he has a stall on the second floor of Affleck's Palace. He has also sold us some super cute yet secret things too but more on that later. It's very controversial and I think I'm going to make a blog post on the debate and my opinion on it to clear the air.

We will definitely visit Anthony lots more and buy lots more from his stall in future as well as Catwalk! I love supporting small businesses, especially when they are so cute and unique like this. I never feel pressured to buy anything and you just say "No, that's not really my thing" or "I can't afford that right now" and they'll either back off or just show you the next item. I actually can't wait to blog about the new "trend" or "fad" or whatever that I have gotten in to, clear the air about it and hopefully feel not so bad about it. You'll have to check back soon to read more! I hope you enjoyed these super cute items, I'm not really bothered if you didn't read the descriptions as I kind of rambled on but what do you think? Have you bought anything cute recently?

  1. OMG, can't decide what's cuter. The scarf is awesome, and you're right, it certainly looks a lot like MARS stuff. I totally understand your eBay frenzy, I'm glued to eBay almost 24/7, lol. The shrug is the coolest idea ever, and the headphones are so cute! I usually hate this type of headphones because they look horrible with my short hair, so I got some Swarovski studded ones in pink, the kind you just put inside your ear. XD All the cute hair decorations make me wish my hair grew faster. T_T

    1. Ah, thank you so much! I know, I was really pleased with the scarf, it was just something I spotted on eBay and knew I had to have! And for that price, why not? I wanted some in-ear earphones instead but I really like these now! And in-ear ones are a lot easier to put in and out, aren't as clunky and can be hidden! Thanks so much for your comment! <3

    1. Hey Val! Yeah, I did, I am super lucky! I was searching for new Lolita blouses and coloured cardigans/boleros to add some more colour to my wardrobe and found it! It's the same one as a girl wore to a meet a couple of weeks ago and I loved it then so it's definitely a lucky find!

Thanks so much! I love the shrug too, it's easy to make and you can make lots of different ones too! Thanks! <3
